Meet Vint Mint…

Thanks for checking out Vint Mint at Goods Vintage — and if you made a purchase, thank you for supporting local retail sustainability and keeping your dollars circulating in Philly. Whatever you spent gets respent in Philadelphia. That’s far better than fueling shiploads of Chinese fast fashion from Shein, Zara, and Fashion Nova.

I’m a luxury brand creative director (and former fashion photographer and stylist) with a lifelong love of beautifully made vintage clothing, natural fabrics, and fine tailoring. A love of clothes seems to run in my blood — I’ve traced tailor ancestors back to 17th-century Scotland and 19th-century Italy and Newark, NJ, and a couple of 20th-century style icons are even distant cousins.

Vint Mint grew out of my own obsessive collecting, and finding great pieces I couldn’t justify owning but couldn’t leave behind. Most items are chosen for their quality, character, and timeless appeal — mostly American or European garments made from wool, cashmere, silk, linen, and leather or fur. While I lean toward preppy classics and chic elegance, you’ll also find the occasional eccentric gem — because every vintage rack deserves a surprise. And yes, I may slip in a unique J. Crew or GAP piece here and there.

I appreciate vintage fur and leather for their sustainability — no new animals harmed, and plenty of old-world style saved.

If Vint Mint inspires one Philly man to trade his oversized Eagles jersey for a tailored wool jacket, and one woman to swap her petrochemical-based yoga pants and Columbia jacket for a silk blouse and cashmere sweater — it will have been a life well lived.

PS- Nice clothes that aren’t tailored, or otherwise don’t fit properly, are not worth wearing. Please consider getting your Vint Mint item(s) altered to fit properly. There are several tailors/seamstresses who will be happy to give you an estimate and consultation, a few I have used that are close to the Italian Market are:

Matin Tailor - 815 South 8th Street

Bao’s Tailor and Alterations - 724 Christian Street

Baldwin’s Fine Tailoring - 751 South 4th Street on Fabric Row. Specializing in leather and furs. Tell Baldwin that Josh sent you and maybe he’ll take a few bucks off.
